Wilhelm Lieven

Wilhelm Gereon Lieven (born September 2, 1934 in Titz ; † September 16, 2014 in Jülich ) was a German politician and member of the CDU state parliament in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life and work

After attending elementary school , he completed an apprenticeship as a miller . He then worked as a self-employed farmer . He was involved in professional organizations and was u. a. between 1990 and 2004 President of the Rhineland Chamber of Agriculture .

Lieven had been a member of the CDU since 1964. He was active in numerous party committees, u. a. as deputy chairman of the CDU district association Düren / Jülich.

MP

From May 29, 1980 to June 2, 2005, Lieven was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia. He was elected from his party's national list.

From 1979 he was a member of the district council of the Düren district . He was a member of the council of the municipality of Titz between 1969 and 2009; from 1969 to 1994 he was mayor .
