Wilhelm Pfeifer

Wilhelm Pfeifer (born September 13, 1913 in Kaiserswalde ; † July 25, 1999 ) was a German lawyer , local politician (CDU) and author .

Life

Pfeifer grew up in the Sudetenland . He studied history, German and philosophy at the German University in Prague, passed the state examinations for teachers at secondary schools from, graduated as Dr. iur. and Dr. phil. , became a consultant for university funding at the German Student Union in Prague as well as archive commissioner in the Prague municipal archive. During the Second World War he was a member of the staff of State Minister Karl Frank in the Reich Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and was awarded the angle of honor of the old fighters .

After the end of the Second World War, Wilhelm Pfeifer was expelled from Czechoslovakia and settled as a lawyer in Baden-Württemberg .

In 1965 he became the first chairman of the CDU local association Schwäbisch Hall and a member of the city council, of which he was a member until he was 80 in 1993.

Honors

In 1983 he was awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany, and in 1992 the Home Medal of the State of Baden-Württemberg .

On the occasion of his 80th birthday, he was granted honorary citizenship of the city of Schwäbisch Hall in September 1993 . Due to its Nazi past, the award was publicly criticized. Therefore, Wilhelm Pfeifer informed the Mayor of Hall on March 1, 1994 that he would return the honorary citizenship.
