Wilhelm Philipp Hauck

Wilhelm Philipp Hauck (born May 13, 1851 in Vienna , † April 4, 1920 in Liesing ) was a mechanic .

Life

As the son of a wealthy mechanic, he completed a technical degree and became a mechanic and electrical engineer. During his studies in 1868 he became a member of the Arminia Vienna fraternity . He became a follower of Georg von Schönerer . He supported Ernst Vergani in founding the Deutsches Volksblatt . He was chairman of the German People's Association and published the district messengers for Wieden and Favoriten . In 1896 he lost to Josef Schlesinger in the Lower Austrian state elections . He was elected to the Reichsrat in Vienna in 1891 and in Bohemia in 1901 . Under pressure from his Bohemian voters, he moved from Schönerer to Karl Hermann Wolf's Frei-Alldeutschen . After his death in 1920 he was buried in the Vienna Central Cemetery.
