Wilhelm Piehler

Wilhelm Hermann Piehler (born February 13, 1873 in Ronneburg , † March 8, 1948 in Mainz ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD Hessen ) and a former member of the Landtag of the People's State of Hesse in the Weimar Republic .

family

Wilhelm Piehler was the son of the linen weaver and later country mailman August Piehler (1847–1920) and his wife Emilie née Zschenderlein (1848–1925). His first marriage in Munich in 1899 was Viktoriea nee Schlander († 1918) and in 1920 his second marriage was Katharina nee Barz.

education and profession

Wilhelm Piehler worked as a plumber / tinsmith in Gera and Munich until 1905. Until 1905 he was a functionary of the metal workers 'association in Munich and from May 1, 1905 to 1933 managing director of the metal workers' association in Mainz. In between he was a member of the war from November 1915 to 1918.

politics

Wilhelm Piehler was a city councilor in Mainz and from 1919 to 1912 a member of the state parliament.
