Wilhelm Posse
Wilhelm Posse (born October 15, 1852 in Bromberg , † June 20, 1925 in Berlin ) was a German harpist and composer .
Life
Posse taught himself to play the harp as a child and made his concert debut in Berlin at the age of eight . After an extensive concert tour through Russia , he studied from 1864 to 1872 at the New Academy of Music . At the age of twenty he became principal harpist in the Berlin Royal Chapel .
His arrangements of the works of Frédéric Chopin and Franz Liszt were highly valued and he advised Richard Strauss , among others, on the arrangement of the harp part of his orchestral works.
