Wilhelm Prasuhn

Wilhelm Prasuhn (born August 28, 1918 in Brühl in the Rhineland; † May 25, 2013 ) was a German politician ( SPD ) who belonged to the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1958 to 1962 .

Life

Wilhelm Prasuhn attended grammar school after elementary school and graduated in 1937 with the Abitur . From 1937 to 1939 he studied at the college for teacher training in Bonn . In 1939 he was called up for military service and took part as a soldier in the Second World War, the end of which he experienced in 1945 as a prisoner of war. After the war, in 1946, Prasuhn began to work as a teacher, from 1952 he was the main teacher. Prasuhn was a member of the Education and Science Union . Until 1953 he was a member of the district and district teacher representation.

After the war, Prasuhn became active in local politics in Brühl; from 1948 he was initially active in various local committees, in November 1952 he was then elected to the Brühl city council and at the same time was managing director of the SPD parliamentary group until October 1956. From 1957 he was chairman of the local SPD association in Brühl.

In the state elections in 1958, Prasuhn was elected to the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament via the state list, number 31, of the SPD; he was a member of the fourth electoral period from July 21, 1958 to July 20, 1962.

On November 24, 1984, he was awarded the ring of honor in his hometown of Brühl in recognition of his services. He was also awarded the Rhineland Taler from the Rhineland Regional Council. He was also active in the Protestant parish in Brühl.
