Peter Gottfried Wilhelm Reimherr (born June 25, 1793 in Erbach ; † February 15, 1843 in Frankfurt am Main ) was an officer and politician in the Free City of Frankfurt .

Wilhelm Reimherr was the son of a pastor from Gronau . This died early. The mother, who entered into a second marriage after the death of the father, also died in Reimherr's early childhood. He grew up with a foster father and joined the Frankfurt military as a cadet at the age of 14. He fought in Spain and became sub-adjutant in 1809 and lieutenant in 1810 . In 1813 he returned from Spain and was promoted to first lieutenant. In 1816 he became a captain.

On October 18, 1831, he fell from his horse and was no longer suitable for active military service. He was retired and appointed Major and Chief of the 1st Battalion of the Voluntary City Army Infantry of the Free City of Frankfurt.

In 1823, 1829 and 1839–1840 he was a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Free City of Frankfurt. He was a knight of the French Legion of Honor .

Wilhelm Reimherr is buried in the Frankfurt main cemetery. His grave is a listed building . The inscription reads:

"Wilhelm Reimherr
Major & Chief of the 1st Battalion
Volunteer City Army Infantryman
Knight of the French. Legion of Honor etc

died on June 25th, 1793 on February 15th, 1843
Out of admiration and love
the volunteer infantry
1st and 2nd age group "

- Epitaph

The grave consists of a red sandstone column. Originally there was a bronze bust of the deceased on it, created by Johann Nepomuk Zwerger .
