Wilhelm Schmeisser

Wilhelm Schmeisser (* 1953 ) is a retired German business economist and professor of human resources and organization .

Life

After the study of business administration at the University of Duisburg , was Wilhelm Schmeisser 1979-1984 research assistant at the Chair of Business Administration, Business Management , especially planning and organization, with Erich Staudt . In 1984 he received his doctorate with a thesis on the problem of inventors.

In the same year he became a university assistant at the University of Duisburg and a member of the IAI von Staudt (Institute for Applied Innovation Research eV, only in Duisburg later at the University of Bochum )

In 1985 he took over the professorship in the subjects of corporate management, planning and organization at the University of Duisburg while Staudt had a research semester.

In 1987/88 Schmeisser moved to the chair for business administration, corporate management, in particular planning, organization and human resource management, where he was assistant to G. Müller-Stewens.

After his habilitation in 1991 on the topic of "Genesis of new business areas in industrial companies", he held various professorships, including a. in the winter semester 1990/91 at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern for the subject of production management , in the winter semester 1991/92 at the TU Dresden for the subject business administration, in particular human resource management

From 1991 Schmeisser was first visiting professor , then visiting professor for marketing and finance at the University of Economics , which later became HTW Berlin .

In 1994 he became professor for business administration at the FHTW Berlin. He has been retired since March 31, 2017.

In 1994 he was one of the founding fathers and coordinators of the business administration course , with a focus on banks.

Since 2001 he has also been the coordinator of the postgraduate further education course in business administration as part of distance learning .

Schmeisser's research interests include personnel management and organization , innovation management , technology management and strategic management .

He is director of the competence center "International Innovation and SME Research" at the HTW in Berlin and director of the research center "European Personnel Management and Labor Law (EPAR)" in Paderborn, co-editor of the series: "Finanzwirtschaft, Finanzdienstleistungen und Empirische Wirtschaftsforschung", "Gesundheits- und Innovation Management "and" International Management ".
