Wilhelm Stollenwerk (chemist)

Wilhelm Stollenwerk (born November 19, 1891 in Düsseldorf , † June 4, 1952 in Bonn ) was a German agricultural chemist .

Stollenwerk studied chemistry at the University of Freiburg (Breisgau) , received his doctorate there in 1921 with a thesis on ammonia compounds and in the following years dealt with the chemical digestion of rock phosphates. In 1926 he completed his habilitation with the thesis "New ways of phosphate digestion" at the agricultural university Hohenheim . Here he worked as a lecturer in chemistry for two years. From 1928 he taught as a private lecturer at the Agricultural University of Bonn-Poppelsdorf and from 1940 to 1944 at the University of Halle (Saale) . From 1947 until his death he was an associate professor for agricultural chemistry at the University of Bonn . One focus of his research activities were studies of the plant availability of fertilizers.
