Wilhelm Trautmann (born December 6, 1888 in Mannheim , † July 24, 1969 ) was a German football player .

In 1906 , when he was not yet 18 years old, Trautmann belonged to the Mannheim football club Viktoria 1897 , for which he was initially active in the Neckar Gau in the Association of South German Football Associations . In the following season he came out with his club as the winner of the Gaus and therefore played in the final round of the northern district to determine the northern district champion. In the 1908/09 season , assigned to the southern district , the change to the western district followed from the 1909/10 season . From this he and his team, the VfR Mannheim - emerged on November 2, 1911 through the merger of three local clubs - at the end of the 1912/13 season, unbeaten in 14 league games as champions. Through this success, he took part in the finals for the South German championship , but finished it in third place . The final round of the South German Championship 1913/14 was finished last . Drafted for military service at the beginning of the First World War , the injuries he suffered meant that his football career ended early.

National team

He played his only international match on April 3, 1910 in Basel in a 3-2 victory over the Swiss national team ; although he knew how to convince, he was not taken into consideration for further encounters.
