Wilhelm Voss (politician)

Wilhelm Voss (born December 5, 1879 in Braunschweig ; † February 5, 1937 there ) was a German politician ( SPD and USPD ) and union leader .

Life

Wilhelm Voss was born the son of a worker. After attending primary school in Hamburg and the community school in Braunschweig, he learned the metalworking trade. Around 1900 he joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany and the German Metalworkers' Association (DMV). During the First World War , Voss left the SPD to join the USPD, which was further to the left.

On June 30, 1921, Voss entered the first Reichstag of the Weimar Republic , elected in June 1920, in the replacement procedure for the deceased USPD MP Karl Aderhold , in which he represented constituency 18 ( South Hanover-Braunschweig ) until the election in May 1924 . In 1922 Voss returned to the SPD, whose parliamentary group he joined for the remainder of the electoral term.
