Wilhelm Weskamp

Wilhelm Weskamp (born June 20, 1903 in Bad Driburg ; † April 14, 1986 there ) was a German local politician and district administrator ( center and CDU ).

Life and work

Weskamp descends from the married couple Georg Joseph Weskamp (1865–1952) and Franziska Christina née Thrine (1870–1930). The father was a farmer and innkeeper.

After attending elementary school, he learned the carpentry trade and passed the journeyman's examination in this profession. He then worked as a carpenter and as a farmer . Before 1933 Weskamp was a member of the Center Party and in 1945 a founding member of the CDU.

He was married and had five children. His brother Josef Weskamp (1908–1983) was a trained lawyer and notary and also became a local politician (center, CDU).

MP

From 1929 to 1933 he was a member of the city ​​council in Bad Driburg. He was a member of the district council of the Höxter district from 1946 to 1948 and from 1950 to 1974.

Public offices

From November 14, 1958 to June 30, 1973 he was district administrator of the Höxter district.

Weskamp was active in various committees of the district council of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Others

On June 20, 1968 Weskamp was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class. On June 25, 1970 he received the plaque of honor of the city of Driburg and on June 20, 1973 the district council of the Höxter district honored him with the honorary title of "Altlandrat".
