Willcox is a city in Cochise County in the US state of Arizona .
The place was founded in 1880 under the name Maley on the Southern Pacific Railroad and renamed in 1889 in honor of General Orlando Bolivar Willcox .
Willcox is located off Interstate 10 and Arizona State Route 186 . The Cochise Airport is also in Willcox. The village has 3733 inhabitants on 15.8 km², of which 0.3 km² is water. The population density is 240.2 inhabitants per km².
