Will Behrens

Wille Behrens (* before 1951) is a former German handball goalkeeper . In the post-war period he celebrated successes with the SV Hamburg Police .

Career

Wille Behrens was a police officer in the Hamburg police force. Since he was interested in playing handball , he became a member of the SV Hamburg Police, which was the leader in handball in Germany in the first post-war years. Within the handball team, he played so well in the post of goalkeeper that he soon belonged to the squad of the first team of his club.

At the German field handball championships in 1951 , he became German champions with the SV Hamburg police force. His teammates were Carl Boysen , Otto Maychrzak , Paul Wanke , Werner Vick , Jürgen Isberg , Karl Heinz Wilm , Heinz Singer , Karl Hebel , Adolf Giele and Wolfgang Höhns . For this success, he and the team were awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf on December 1, 1951 by Federal President Theodor Heuss .
