Willem Charles Lievin Delsaux (born May 4, 1862 in Ixelles , † August 28, 1945 in Grimbergen ) was a Belgian painter and graphic artist who mainly painted cityscapes and landscapes. He found his motifs mainly in the Belgian cities of Brussels , Antwerp and Charleroi and their surroundings and on the Belgian North Sea coast.

Career

Delsaux studied decorative painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels from 1878 to 1880 . After he finished his studies, he lived and worked in Brussels, belonged to various artist groups and had solo exhibitions in Brussels, Ghent, Antwerp, Paris and London. Delsaux became a lecturer in Charleroi, where he taught drawing, painting and ceramics. During his lifetime he had various exhibitions; In 1972 he received a retrospective in the "Cercle Artistique de Charleroi".
