Willi Bromberger (born October 15, 1927 in Alt Prilipp , Pyritz district ; † January 3, 2004 in Berlin ) was a track and field athlete from the German Democratic Republic (GDR) who was GDR champion in the 400-meter run in 1953 and 1954 .

In 1950 and 1952, Bromberger finished fourth in the GDR championships, and in 1953 he won his first championship title in 49.1 seconds wearing the SC Dynamo Potsdam jersey . At the UIE Sports Weeks, the Universiade of the Eastern Bloc, he took third place in 1953 with the GDR's 4 x 400 meter relay . In 1954, Bromberger won his second championship title in 47.7 seconds, making him the first GDR runner under 48 seconds. At the UIE Sports Weeks in 1954, he won gold over 400 meters in 48.2 s and with the relay. In 1955, Bromberger, now running for SC Dynamo Berlin , took third place in the GDR championships, in 1956 he was second behind Horst Mann . In 1953 and 1954 for Potsdam and in 1955 and 1957 for Berlin, he ran with the club relay to the GDR championship.

Bromberger set Ewald Schröder's GDR record with 48.4 s in 1954 and then improved the record to 47.7 s, when he was replaced as record holder in 1955 by Horst Mann. In 1953 Bromberger finished fifth in the GDR championships in the 200-meter run in 22.5 s , and his best performance on this route was in 1954 with 21.9 s.
