Willi Goetschel
Willi Goetschel (* 1958 in Zurich ) is a Swiss - Canadian literary scholar and professor of philosophy and German studies at the University of Toronto .
Goetschel studied philosophy and German in Switzerland and the USA. At the University of Zurich he acquired in 1982 licentiate in philosophy, he received his doctorate in 1989 in German at the University of Harvard . His research areas include Jewish thought , critical theory as well as enlightenment and idealism in German-speaking countries.
Goetschel is editor of Hermann Levin Goldschmidt's nine-volume edition of the Wiener Passagen-Verlag and editor -in- chief of The Germanic Review .
