career

In his youth, Willi Hutter played at FC Hertha Mannheim. The offensive player had a brief interlude in 1914/15 at VfR Mannheim before continuing his career with the blue-blacks of SV Waldhof until October 1921 . In the two rounds 1919/20 and 1920/21 he won the championship in the Odenwald district with Waldhof and thus moved into the final round of the southern German championship . With teammates Theodor Lohrmann (goalkeeper), Sepp Herberger and Karl Höger , Waldhof failed twice at the later German champions 1. FC Nürnberg . The Waldhöfer indoor trio went down in football history as the legendary "H-Innensturm", whose technically brilliant game culture earned the blue-blacks wide admiration. In particular, the performances shown in the games and the southern German championship made the DFB game committee aware of the Walhof strikers. At the international match on September 18, 1921 in Helsinki against Finland, the three Waldhof attackers formed the German attack together with Hans Kalb and Karl Wolter . For Hutter and Herberger it was the debut in the national team.

In the course of the so-called “professional player affair”, Hutter moved to Saarland in 1921 to Saar 05 Saarbrücken . With his new club he won the championship in the Saar district in 1921/22 in front of SV Trier, SV Völklingen and FV Saarbrücken, but lost the district final against Borussia Neunkirchen with his teammates. On March 26, 1922 he came to the national team for his second international match. In Frankfurt there was a 2-2 draw against Switzerland. The German storm started with Fritz Retter , Andreas Franz , Leonhard Seiderer , Hutter and Heinrich Altvater . As a special feature of his second international match, it is noted that center forward Seiderer had to guard the goal of the DFB-Elf for the injured goalkeeper Lohrmann from the 62nd minute.

From the round 1925/26, the sports teacher was active for the Bonn FV . He took second place with Bonn in the 1926/27 season in the Rhine district class behind master Cologne CfR . On October 10, 1926, he took part in the selection of West Germany in the competition of the Federal Cup against the representation of North Germany. He played in the 2-1 defeat in Cologne in the West German attack as a center forward, Karl Zolper was in goal and Konrad Heidkamp was in action as the left wing runner.

He died in 1936 as a result of a motorcycle accident.
