Willi Köhn

Willi Köhn (born July 1, 1900 in Friedland (Mecklenburg) ; † February 1, 1962 ) was a German consul general , functionary of the NSDAP's foreign organization (NSDAP / AO) and most recently with the rank of SS brigade leader on the staff of the Reichsführer SS .

Life

The merchant's son Willi Köhn finished his school career in 1917 with the upper secondary qualification . He took part in the First World War as a war volunteer with the sea pilots . After the end of the war he was a member of the Güstrow volunteer battalion in 1919. From 1919 to 1922 completed commercial training in his father's business and at Karstadt AG . In 1920 he joined the German National Freedom Party. In 1924/25 he was a company commander in the Ehrhardt Brigade . In 1928 he left for Chile and worked there as a bank clerk. In 1930 he joined the NSDAP ( membership number 674.734) and was local group leader in Santiago de Chile in 1931 , national group leader of the NSDAP / AO in 1932 and AO foreign commissioner for South America in 1933 . From 1938 Köhn belonged as a representative of the SS , finally as Consul General in Spain (during the civil war, on the side of the putschists) alongside Paul Winzer , Richard Enge (economic expert), Hans Kroeger (for the NSDAP ) and Hans Stille junior. (later secretary of the legation) to the entourage of Wilhelm Faupel in Salamanca . From 1940 he was Ministerialdirigent in the Reich Ministry of Post .

In 1936 Köhn joined the NSDAP's Schutzstaffel (SS, SS-No. 277.325), was appointed SS-Oberführer in 1938 , and on November 9, 1941, SS-Brigadführer. From November 9, 1944, he was on the staff of the Reichsführer SS.
