Live and act
After attending elementary school, Luckner was trained at a preparatory institute. From August 1914 he took part in the First World War as a volunteer : After initially being a member of Infantry Regiment No. 52, he was transferred to the 6th Company of Reserve Infantry Regiment No. 52, of which he was a member until March 1918 . He then fought with the replacement battalion of the same regiment and the 8th Company of Infantry Regiment No. 189, before falling into British captivity in November 1918, from which he was released in October 1919.
After the war, from which he returned with the Iron Cross II. Class , the Wound Badge in black and the Austrian bronze medal for bravery , he was a member of the security police in Berlin from December 1919. He was later transferred to the Berlin Security Police. He then belonged to the police in Berlin, Witten an der Ruhr, Cottbus and again in Berlin. This activity was interrupted by a permanent dismissal from March 1932 to March 1933 because of the delivery of official material to the NSDAP.
After the National Socialist " seizure of power " in spring 1933, Luckner became a member of the Prussian state parliament in March 1933 , to which he was a member until October 1933. In April 1934 he entered the National Socialist Reichstag as a replacement for the resigned MP Seidel-Dittmarsch , to which he belonged as a representative of constituency 4 (Potsdam) until the end of the Nazi regime in spring 1945.
In the SS , Luckner, who was also the federal leader of the Kameradschaftsbund German police officers, achieved at least the rank of SS-Oberführer .
