William A. Eaton (biophysicist)

William Allen Eaton (born June 4, 1938 ) is an American biophysicist and is considered one of the leading experts on the physics of proteins .

Eaton received his BA at the University of Pennsylvania in 1959 , was at the Free University of Berlin in 1960 and then again at the University of Pennsylvania in 1964 an MD and in 1967 a Ph.D. to obtain. His doctoral thesis dealt with the topic of electronic spectroscopy of hemoproteins . In 1968 Eaton went to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda , Maryland . Since 1986 he has been director of the Laboratory of Chemical Physics, NIDDK, the laboratory for basic research at the NIH.
