William Agee (1990)

William "Bill" Agee (born January 5, 1938 in Boise , Idaho , † December 20, 2017 in Seattle , Washington ) was an American manager.

Life

Agee was named CEO of Bendix Corporation in 1976 at the age of 38 . During the 1970s he was considered an unorthodox manager. During the hostile takeover of Martin Marietta by the Bendix Corporation, the Bendix Corporation lost its independence and was incorporated into the Allied Corp. incorporated. In 1982 he had to resign because of an affair with Mary Cunningham, whom he subsequently married.

From 1988 to 1995, he managed the construction company Morrison-Knudsen from his hometown of Boise. He took over the remaining works from Pullman-Standard and went into the production of rail vehicles. In 1995 it became increasingly clear that Morrison-Knudsen had calculated too tightly in many tenders and Agee had to resign. Due to losses in the railroad business, the company filed for bankruptcy in 1996 and was acquired by Dennis Washington's Washington Construction Group .
