William F. Webb
Sir William Flood Webb , KBE, (born January 21, 1887 in Brisbane ( Queensland ), † August 11, 1972 ibid), Australian , was a lawyer and judge at the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia . He graduated from the University of Queensland . Among other things, he was presiding judge (President) of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East after the end of the Second World War from 1946 until the verdict was pronounced in 1948 . He married Beatrice Agnew on March 17, 1917.

- then at the High Court of Australia ( Constitutional Court of Australia) until May 16, 1958.
From 1943 to 1945 he investigated war crimes against Australians in captivity (the three Webb reports) on behalf of the government.

Honors
- In 1954 Webb was named Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire and thus ennobled.
- In 1967 he received an honorary doctorate (of Laws) from the University of Queensland .
- In Canberra , a street named after him is called William Webb Drive ( Belconnen ).
