William Marsh
William "Bill" Marsh (* 1944 in Jena (Louisiana) , USA ) is an internationally active American grand master of martial arts and holder of the 9th Dan of Shorinji Ryu Karate . Until 2008 he learned karate, Kobudo and Tai Chi Chuan with Richard Lee , 9th Dan. He was also active as a musician.
Life
In 1966 he was stationed as a soldier in Germany. By chance he met the band The Black Cats there, whose singer he became in 1967. The band got a record deal with EMI Electrola and produced the LP Soul & Inspiration . She played in the opening act of the Beach Boys , Wilson Pickett , Aretha Franklin , Alexis Korner , Spencer Davis and the Hollies . The band broke up in March 1970, but made a comeback in 1984. The final and final appearance of the Black Cats took place in 2004. Marsh's popularity as a singer meant that he did not have to go to the Vietnam War at the time : The Mayor of Trier Paul Kreutzer intervened with the commander-in-chief of the US troops in Germany because Marsh was indispensable as a "symbol of friendship between peoples".
Marsh is married to a German. His son James Marsh , born in 1970, was a well-known basketball player.
