William Sheldrick Conover

William Sheldrick Conover (born August 27, 1928 in Richmond , Virginia ) is a former American politician . In 1972 and 1973 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

William Conover attended Lake Forest High School in Illinois until 1946 . He then studied until 1950 at Northwestern University in Evanston . Between 1952 and 1954 he served in the US Navy . Then he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . In 1959 and 1960 he was their youth organization in Mount Lebanon (Pennsylvania); from 1965 to 1966 he headed the Republican Club in the village of Upper St. Clair . His main job was in the insurance industry. He became president of his company Conover & Associates, Inc.

After the death of MP James G. Fulton , Conover was elected as his successor to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he took up his new mandate on April 25, 1972. Since he was not nominated for re-election by his party in the regular elections of that year, he could only end the current legislative period in Congress until January 3, 1973 .

After his time in the US House of Representatives, William Conover resumed his previous activities. Politically, he no longer appeared. He spends his old age in Pittsburgh .
