Williamson Murray
Williamson Murray (* 1941 ) is an American military historian .
Life
Murray graduated from Yale University with a degree in history in 1963. He then served in the United States Air Force for 5 years. After serving in the military, Murray completed his Ph.D. in history. He then taught for 2 years at the Yale history department and moved to Ohio State University as a military historian in 1977 . Murray also taught at Air War College , the United States Military Academy, and Naval War College .
For 2019 he was awarded the Samuel Eliot Morison Prize .
