Willibald Weichert

Willibald Weichert (* 1944 in Tarnowitz ) is a German sports educator and university teacher .

Life

Weichert was born in Tarnowitz  ( Upper Silesia ) and studied German , educational science and sports science at the universities of Marburg and Tübingen from 1964 to 1970 . In 1971 and 1972 he completed a legal clerkship, from 1975 to 1978 he worked at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel as a research assistant at the Institute for Sports Science and wrote his doctoral thesis with Herbert Haag on the topic of "Sports curriculum and sports policy", which he graduated in 1977.

In 1979 Weichert at the University of Hamburg a professorship of Sports Science / Sports didactics at the Faculty of Sports Science of 1979, he transferred to the University of Hamburg as professor of Education at the Department of Education (Physical Activity, games and sports). He initially held this position until 1985.

In 1985 and 1986 Weichert worked as an appraiser for sports projects in various African countries, and from 1986 to 1992 he was in charge of the project “Development of primary school sports in Ecuador”. In 1992 Weichert returned to the University of Hamburg and returned to his position as professor for educational science in the educational science department. In 2009 he retired.

Weoftert's main research areas were in the areas of "movement and disability", integration, physical education and handball.

The scientific discussion of the subject of "movement and disability" can also be traced back to his private life: in 1992, his son suffered an apallic syndrome in an accident, and intensive training has significantly improved the child's living situation.
