Willy Dehmel Prize
The Willy Dehmel Prize is an award for lyricists .
The Willy Dehmel Prize has been awarded to lyricists by the GEMA Foundation since 1985 in memory of the lyricist Willy Dehmel (1909–1971) every two years . The criterion for the award is that “the award winners in the sense of the founder have a successful overall work in the field of German-language popular song and have contributed to the reputation of their profession”.
The prize is endowed with € 10,000 (previously DM 20,000).
