Egon L. Frauenberger

Egon Louis Frauenberger (born November 14, 1931 in Munich ; † November 17, 2009 there ) was a German author and music producer .

Frauenberger first studied acting, dramaturgy and directing. He then worked as a specialist salesman for sound carriers and sales manager. He founded the Edition Effel-music and was, among other things, owner of Dennerlein Musikverlage and Neuer Münchner Musikverlag. He worked as a promoter and producer for Philips-Ton GmbH.

Several thousand music productions are associated with the Frauenbergers name (among others for Petula Clark , Udo Jürgens and Siw Malmkvist ), and he also produced around 250 children's songs. He wrote numerous radio plays based on books by Otfried Preußler , for example the stories of the robber Hotzenplotz , the Little Witch , the Little Ghost and the Urmel from the Ice by Max Kruse . He received the world's first gold record for a radio play (Räuber Hotzenplotz) . A total of 50 of his productions achieved gold status, four were awarded platinum.

As a lyricist and composer he wrote numerous songs for Franzl Lang , Lolita and other singers. He also made a name for himself as a Bavarian dialect poet . In July 2009, he lost a legal dispute over the copyrights to the Kufsteinlied , which he had asserted because of the yodelling allegedly made by him. Frauenberger has been a member of GEMA 's supervisory board since 2000, and has been deputy chairman since 2009.

Frauenberger married his wife Cherie in 1956, with whom he had two daughters.
