Willy Boehm

Willy (Willi) Boehm (born July 16, 1877 in Berlin ; † January 10, 1938 there ) was a German physician , naval doctor -general and politician ( DVP ).

Life and work

Boehm was the son of a senior high school teacher. After graduating from the Sophien-Gymnasium in Berlin , Boehm studied medicine at the Kaiser-Wilhelms-Akademie for military medical education from the winter semester 1894 to 1899 . There he was a member of the Normannia Landsmannschaft since 1895 . In 1901 he was with the thesis A case of two primary cancers of the colon at the University of Kiel to Dr. med. PhD .

In October 1899, Boehm started the career of naval medical officer and was promoted to naval senior surgeon general. On September 13, 1919, he was retired from active service. After finishing his military career, Boehm was a district doctor with the government in Opole from 1919 to 1920 . On February 1, 1920 he was a district doctor in Remscheid and was promoted to the medical council. In 1933 he moved to Berlin-Kreuzberg as a district doctor and from 1935 was employed as a medical advisor at the Berlin police headquarters .

Political activity

From 1924 to 1929 Boehm was a city councilor in Remscheid and from 1923 chairman of the DVP. As a member of the DVP, he was a member of the Prussian state parliament from 1924 to 1928 , from 1928 to 1932 and from 1932 to 1933 . In parliament he represented constituency 22 (Düsseldorf-Ost). From October 14, 1931 to 1932 he was third vice-president of the state parliament.
