Willy Leonhardt (instrument maker)
Willy Leonhardt (born June 25, 1880 in Arnsgrün ; † in the 20th century) was a German musical instrument maker .
He learned the trade of brass instrument maker in Markneukirchen . On March 14, 1899, he came to Erfurt to spend his first years as a journeyman on what was known as wandering with other manufacturers , as was customary at the time. It can be assumed that he worked here for Eduard Kruspe .
On August 13, 1902, he went via Munich , where he possibly worked with Anton Schöpf sen. worked, in Saint Petersburg , probably for the Julius Heinrich Zimmermann company . On September 21, 1905, he returned to Erfurt , married Minna Herzog, who was born in Büßleben , and started his own business as an instrument maker.
From his workshop are known: a rotary valve - cornet with triangular arrangement of the machine , a concert trumpet with very thin solid silver funnel and a trombone , very worked fine and light, also with very thin funnel.
