Willy Mitterhuber
Wilhelm "Willy" Mitterhuber (born March 10, 1927 in Kraiburg am Inn , † June 19, 2004 in Schirmitz ) was a German poet .
Life
Mitterhuber completed a commercial apprenticeship. He then worked as editor for the United Homeland Papers in Mühldorf am Inn . In 1944 he was called up for the Reich Labor Service and soon afterwards for military service. Shortly before the end of the Second World War , he was taken prisoner of war . In 1947 he was fired and in 1948 found a job as an insurance salesman. From 1952 he was branch manager of the Munich glass company Riepolt for the northern Bavaria area. For this job he moved to the Max-Reger-Stadt Weiden in the Upper Palatinate . In 1956 he married his wife Maria, with whom he had two daughters (* 1957 and 1961).
Mitterhuber was an active member of the Regensburg Writers' Group International and wrote around 2,000 poems. He published many of them in anthologies, yearbooks and magazines. His last volume of poetry, entitled Gläsernes Glück , remained unfinished.
