Willy Rudert (born March 17, 1884 in Falkenstein / Vogtl. , † October 17, 1949 there ) was a German native and dialect writer . He is considered one of the most famous poets of the Vogtland dialect .

Rudert was born the son of a justice of the peace . After attending elementary school, he learned the trade of a decorative artist at the arts and crafts school in Plauen . He practiced this profession for a short time in Dresden and later in Plauen. In Falkenstein he worked as a pattern designer for curtains . From 1920 Rudert lived as a freelance writer in Falkenstein. He founded and directed the Falkensteiner Heimatmuseum and a traditional costume group .

In memory of Rudert's services, the town of Falkenstein / Vogtl. the square in front of the town hall is named after him.
