Edward Sarul

Edward Sarul (born November 16, 1958 in Nowy Kościół ) is a former Polish shot putter .

After Sarul had reached eleventh place in the shot put at the European Championships in 1982 with 19.19 m, 1983 was the high point of his career. On Jul 31, 1983 he set his personal best with 21.68 m and the Polish national record, which was still valid in 2006. On August 7th, in the final of the World Championships in Helsinki , he kicked 21.39 m and beat Ulf Timmermann from the GDR by 23 centimeters.

After the Olympic boycott in 1984, Sarul never made it back to the top of the world. At the European Indoor Championships in 1986, he was again fifth with 19.73 m.

Sarul is 1.95 m tall and weighed 117 kg at competition times.
