Wilson Obungu Oduor (born September 5, 1984 in Mombasa ) is a Kenyan football goalkeeper . He has played for Bandari in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) since 2013 .
career

Wilson Obungu attended Khamisi High School in Tudor , Mombasa District . In 1999, during fourth form , he played for Coast Stars in the Premier League and moved to Tusker FC after the school year in Nairobi . He later returned to Mombasa to play for Bandari, where he was nicknamed Oburu . In 2009 Sofapaka signed him and became a regular player there.
In December 2010, Wilson Obungu tore a cruciate ligament while exercising . On March 8, 2011, he was operated on at Kenyatta Hospital . In June 2011 - half a year after his injury - Obungu was taken back into the squad by Sofapaka. However, he was not used for the rest of the season and his contract was not extended. He played for SoNy Sugar in the 2012 season and returned to Bandari in 2013. That year he became a regular again and was nominated for Goalkeeper of the Year at the KPL Awards .
National team
In 2009 and 2010, Wilson Obungu made nine appearances in the Kenyan national soccer team , he always played when the goalkeeper at the time, Arnold Origi, was not in action. For the COSAFA Senior Challenge 2013 he was called back to the national team for the first time after his injury, but was not used. Obungu was scheduled for the 2013 CECAFA Cup but was unable to take part due to a broken thumb.
