Controversy

In mid-March 2015 it became known that the district administrator of the district of Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm was planning to accommodate around 130 asylum seekers in a former restaurant. After citizens 'protests, the founding of a citizens' initiative and the start of an online petition, those responsible agreed on accommodation for around 70 people. On July 8, 2015 it was announced that the Reichertshofen building committee had approved the renovation measures to 22 rooms with a total of 67 beds. On the night of July 16, 2015, an arson attack was carried out on the intended building ensemble, during which the building intended as a warehouse burned out and the accommodation building was damaged.
