Wine-Searcher ( English for wine searcher ) is an online search engine for wine . The site lists around 4.38 million wines from 21,659 wine dealers and wineries worldwide - 3197 of them from German-speaking countries - and records over 75 million hits per year.

In addition to its core function as a wine search engine and price comparison portal , Wine-Searcher offers additional wine-related information about grape varieties , wine-growing regions , ecological viticulture , wine gifts, competition analyzes , tastings and vintage recommendations . There is also the function to determine the value of wines.

The company was founded in 1999 by Martin Brown in London. Since 2006 the company has been based in Auckland , New Zealand .

Wine-Searcher is free, but does not display all search results to users of the free version. The full functionality requires the purchase of a subscription.
