Winfried Bornemann

Winfried Bornemann (* 1944 in Göttingen ) is a German writer . He lives in Osnabrück .

Career

Bornemann - his main job was a teacher - is known for books with his joke letters to companies, celebrities and authorities, including their replies. The first book, Zu Schade… zum Eregieren , which he wrote together with his brother-in-law Jochen Piepmeyer, contains only a few of these letters apart from humorous drawings. It has sold more than 30,000 times. According to his own statements, five of his following works stayed on the Spiegel and Stern bestseller lists for a total of 73 weeks .

For the book Bornemanns lachende Erben , Bornemann wrote under the pseudonym "Carola von Gaestern" to various celebrities in order to promise them the inheritance of that fictional widow of a rich businessman. Harald Juhnke was also among the addressees . In response to this letter, the Bild-Zeitung reported on the front page on November 5 and 15, 1984 about an old lady (“Frau von G.”) who wanted to bequeath Juhnke “17 million marks”. On November 16, the Bild newspaper had to admit "great fun".

The time titled Bornemann as " Till Eulenspiegel literature". In 1988, the television station RTL broadcast the 40-part series Bornemann's sewing box .
