Winfried Thirolf

Winfried Thirolf (born November 7, 1923 in Edenkoben ; † December 8, 1992 in Bad Hersfeld ) was a German businessman and politician ( CDU ).

Life

Thirolf attended elementary school, the Progymnasium and the technical center in Ilmenau (Thuringia). He was a war volunteer in World War II and served as a radio operator in a destroyer squadron. After the war, he did technical and commercial training in a woodworking and processing company. In 1955 he became a self-employed businessman (wholesale for sawn timber and veneer imports).

In 1946 he became a member of the CDU and was co-founder and chairman of the JU of the Palatinate. In 1952 he was elected CDU district chairman in Landau. In 1948 he became a member of the Edenkoben city council and in 1956 an alderman. In 1951 he became a member of the Palatinate District Assembly . From 1952 he was a member of the Landau district council, where he became parliamentary group chairman. In 1956 he became a member of the district committee and first district deputy.

In 1959 he was elected to the fourth state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate , to which he was a member until September 30, 1962. In the state parliament he was a secretary and member of the legal committee and the viticulture and wine industry committee. After leaving the Landtag, Gerhard Geis replaced him.

He was the founder and head of the Volksbildungswerk Edenkoben and co-founder and chairman of the supervisory board of the regional winegrowers' cooperative Rietburg in Rhodt (Palatinate) .
