Gerhard Geis

Gerhard Geis (born March 17, 1929 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ; † March 17, 2015 in Bad Kreuznach ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

Geis attended elementary school and the humanistic grammar school, which he left when he graduated from elementary school. He completed an apprenticeship as a mill builder and then worked as a diocesan leader at the Federation of German Catholic Youth in the Palatinate. From 1952 he worked for the Federal Employment Agency , initially as a career advisor at the employment office in Landau and later in the higher service as a department head for career advice and psychological service at the state employment office in Rhineland-Palatinate-Saarland.

Geis joined the CDU in 1954 and was district manager of the party in Landau from 1956 to 1963. From 1956 he was councilor in Landau and for 20 years a member of the district council in the Bad Kreuznach district . He was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate Landtag from October 1, 1962, when he replaced the retired MP Winfried Thirolf , until 1963.
