Winfried Zylka

Winfried Zylka (born September 22, 1946 in Bad Bramstedt ; † May 20, 2019 in Bornhöved ) was a German local politician ( CDU ) and district president of the Segeberg district .

Life

Winfried Zylka studied mathematics and computer science at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel from 1968 to 1973 and then joined the Schleswig-Holstein state service as a qualified mathematician . He worked there in the field of science and education until the end of 2009, most recently as head of the department for school development planning and school construction funding. In January 2010, Zylka founded a municipal consultancy on issues relating to demographic development. He ended this activity in 2018.

He was a member of the Segeberg district council from 1976 with interruptions until 2018. In 1988 he was elected chairman of the CDU district parliamentary group and in 1990 district president. He held this office until June 11, 2018. With 28 years of service, he was the longest-serving district president in Schleswig-Holstein. From 1998 to 2003 he was deputy chairman of the Schleswig-Holstein district assembly and was a member of the association's board from 1998 to 2018.

Professionally, the Ministerialrat was a. D. worked as a municipal advisor from the beginning of 2010 to 2018. In 2007 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon by the Federal President for outstanding voluntary commitment . Further honors are: 1997 Freiherr-vom-Stein-Medal, 2017 German Fire Brigade Medal of Honor, 2018 Badge of Honor of the Schleswig-Holstein District Council.

On November 6, 2014, Zylka obtained that the veterinarian Margrit Herbst , who had made public in 1994 that 21 cattle suspected of BSE had been released for slaughter and then released for breach of their duty of confidentiality, acknowledged their efforts, but definitely received no compensation.

Winfried Zylka lived in Bornhöved; he was married and has two grown children.

Political party

Winfried Zylka had been a member of the CDU since 1967 . From 1970 until 2018 he was a member of the board of the CDU district association Segeberg. He was u. a. Deputy district chairman and chairman of the CDU local association Bornhöved. From 1998 to 2018, he was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group at the general assembly of the Schleswig-Holstein district assembly.
