Winninger Uhlen describes a part of the cross-town location Uhlen, which extends in the German wine-growing region Mosel over the communities Kobern-Gondorf and Winningen on the Terrassenmosel .

The vineyard area in Winninger Uhlen is approximately 7 hectares and the vineyard slope is at an altitude of 75 to 210 m above sea level. NN . The steep slope (→ steep slope viticulture ) has a steepness of 50 to 70% and is laid out on terraces . The winemakers use the vine training methods Moselpfahl, Trier Rad, Vertiko and wire frame training. The most important grape variety is Riesling . The Winninger Uhlen is located in the immediate vicinity of the motorway bridge of the federal motorway 61.

Within the Winninger Uhlen, the parcels Blaufüßer Lay, Laubach (named after the Laubach strata, a calcareous and fossil-rich slate from the geological age of the Emsium . The strata named after Laubach lie on the high Rhine strata and the Emsquarzite ) and Roth Lay ( mainly on Ems quartzite containing iron oxide) has a good name. Some names reflect the variety of soils in the Winninger Uhlen. In addition to gray and blue slate, there are sandstones with a high proportion of iron oxide , but also limestone bands and quartzites . The proportion of rock is over 50 percent. Great wines are produced from this vineyard, including Beerenauslese , Trockenbeerenauslese and Eisweine among many others . In general, the Riesling des Uhlen is characterized by finesse, minerality and a strong acidity.

5 of approx. 14.6 hectares of the entire Uhlen are owned by the VDP Heymann-Löwenstein winery in Winningen.
