- The reformed village church is a Romanesque hall church with a rectangular floor plan and was built at the beginning of the 13th century. The windows were enlarged in the 15th century. They are arched, but the group of windows in the choir has a higher central window. It is called Gothic. In the Middle Ages it had a tower in front of the west gable. It was demolished in 1878 and replaced by a roof turret. Since 1981, the church has only been a museum in the care of the Stichting Oude Groninger Kerken (Foundation Old Groninger Churches).
- In 1894 a Roman terra sigillata sculpture of the goddess Minerva was found in Werdenum .
