action

Archeology student Diana is plagued by nightmares after losing her parents in a car accident as a child. During the day she finds distraction with her boyfriend Greg and the work at the museum, where she often works after graduation. One day she discovered a mysterious red ruby in an old Persian jewelry box. By opening the box, she unknowingly unleashed a genie of evil. He has to fulfill three wishes of his discoverer in order to be able to usurp world domination afterwards . However, the genie has to find Diana first, because she has left the museum in the meantime. To find her, he first kills Professor Joel Barash and takes his form. Diana has visions at the same time and is afraid for her teacher. So she goes to the museum again, but can't find the professor anywhere. Diana takes the box with her to the university and researches its origin. She gets on the track of the Djinn and feels its presence as soon as it approaches her. She tries to warn her fellow students of the danger they are in, but only Greg and Katie believe her. While they manage to hide from the Djinn again and again, the latter causes a bloodbath at a university .

Diana and Greg want to seek refuge in the church, but the wrong professor is waiting for them there. He continues to kill to get Diana to make three wishes. She wisely wishes that the Archangel Michael would come to her aid. That happens and it goes into Greg's body. Both fight a bitter duel, but the angel cannot defeat the professor. Diana and Greg manage to escape from the church and hide, but Diana is plagued by cruel visions. So she lets the archangel give her the sword and goes into battle against the jinn. After killing two other fellow students, he is now on the hunt for Diana's girlfriend Katie. Diana senses this in her visions and comes to her aid. But she cannot save them and has to flee from the professor again. After he catches up with her and she is supposed to express her third wish, she succeeds with Gabriel's help in thrusting the divine sword into the jinn's chest. But she also dies in the process. In thanks that Diana saved the world from the power of evil with her death, she gets her life back.

criticism

“A weak sequel with no atmosphere that has little in common with the basic idea of the original. The horror film in the college milieu is staged on the level of a previous evening television series, if you disregard the bloody special effects and sadisms. The actors seem to have qualified for their template-like roles only through their good looks. The tension disappears at the latest when the Archangel Michael appears and the mixture of lack of imagination and lack of budget becomes apparent. "

“Scary nonsense at the university - really unspeakable. [...] Superfluous horror food for insomniacs "
