The BSG Wismut Auerbach was a German company sports association from Auerbach / Vogtl. in today's Vogtlandkreis , whose football department existed from 1952 to 1961. The home site was the Auerbach Wismut Stadium .

Football section

Wismut Auerbach was founded in 1952 when the Wismut sports association and the local SDAG Wismut joined the company as a company sports association for the Tannenberg mine .

On a sporting level, the district team rose within a few years within Vogtland local football to the then fourth-class district league Karl-Marx-Stadt , the top division of the district was held by Wismut until 1958, there was no realistic chance of promotion to the 2nd GDR league . The best place was a fourth place in the 1957 season, in which Wismut Auerbach came in behind the representatives of Wismut Plauen , activist "Karl Marx" Zwickau and Motor Brand-Langenau . As early as 1958, Auerbach, together with activist "Grube Deutschland" Oelsnitz and Unit Mittweida, went back to the district class area.

In the seasons 1953/54 and 1956 Wismut Auerbach took part in the FDGB Cup . While the BSG failed in the qualification at Wismut Bärenstein in the first attempt after a first victory over progress Elsterberg , they reached the first main round against Chemie Jena in 1956 via Motor Veilsdorf . Against the Thuringian GDR league club, the Vogtlanders lost 2: 4.

Wismut Auerbach was dissolved again in 1961, and the football department was integrated into the local rival unit Auerbach .
