Knowledge is Power (original title: "Knowledge is Power") is a quiz game for up to six players developed by the English developer, Wish Studios, exclusively for the PlayStation 4 . The video game is part of the link series, in which not the controller , but a smartphone or a tablet computer with Android - or iOS - the operating system as an input device is used for operation. Knowledge is power was first presented at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017 in Los Angeles and was released on November 22, 2017.

In addition to downloading or purchasing a physical version of the game for the PlayStation 4, an additional app must be installed, which is available free of charge in the Google Play Store for Android operating systems or in the App Store for devices with iOS operating systems. It is also a necessary technical requirement that all devices are in the same WLAN network so that communication between the game console and the smartphone or tablet is possible. Game flow
"Knowledge is power" is a quick guessing game in which up to six players compete against each other and have to answer knowledge questions from different areas as quickly as possible. The game principle is comparable to the quiz game series Buzz! , which was released for various PlayStation consoles until 2010. At the beginning, each player chooses a cartoon-style character and individualizes it with a selfie . Then several knowledge categories are displayed and one of them is selected by majority vote. Each player has a limited number of veto cards with which he can influence a decision in his favor, even against the majority. In classic question and answer sessions, there are several possible solutions to choose from and whoever gives the correct answer first receives the highest number of points. In addition to such multiple choice tasks, additional game variants loosen up the action. For example, in the Sort game mode, a number of terms are to be assigned to the correct category under time pressure by means of swiping movements on the screen. Jokers can be used between guessing rounds to place obstacles in the way of other players. For example, the answers can be covered with a green slime or covered with a layer of ice that has to be wiped away before the corresponding button can be pressed.

Reports in the trade press praise the large scope of knowledge areas with a good 5000 questions as well as the easy-to-learn gameplay, which also allows casual gamers easy access. The entertainment value is particularly emphasized when the group members know each other.
Knowledge is power: decades
A revised version of the game entitled Knowledge is Power: Decades was released on November 14, 2018 . This includes new questions that deal thematically with the pop culture of the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. In addition, eight new characters are included, which use clichés of the time in a cheerful, ironic way. Among other things, it includes an "Internet guy", a mascot in the form of a popcorn pack with 3D glasses and a human 80s arcade machine.
