Vitaly Tyschtschenko
Vitaliy Tyschtschenko ( Ukrainian Віталій Тищенко , English transcription Vitaliy Tyshchenko; born July 28, 1957 in Nossiwka ) is a former Ukrainian middle and long-distance runner who started for the Soviet Union .
Over 1500 m he reached the semifinals at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow and was fifth at the European Athletics Championships in Athens in 1982 .
At the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1985 in Piraeus, he won bronze over 3000 m .
He was three times Soviet champion over 5000 m (1984, 1987, 1988) and once over 1500 m (1981). In 1985 he became the Soviet indoor champion over 3000 m.
