Vladimir Ivanovich Dolgich ( Russian Владимир Иванович Долгих ; born December 5, 1924 in Ilanskaja (now Ilansky ), Krasnoyarsk region ) is a former Soviet and is currently a Russian politician.

Dolgich was born the son of a railroad worker. In 1941 he volunteered for the Red Army and took part in the Battle of Moscow . In 1943 he was discharged from the military after being seriously injured. After the war he studied at the University of Mining and Metallurgy in Irkutsk , which he graduated in 1949. He then worked at the Norilsk Ironworks Combine (now part of MMC Norilsk Nickel ), which he headed from 1958 to 1969. He later made a career in the CPSU , of which he had been a member since 1942. From 1969 to 1972 he was first secretary of the regional party committee in Krasnoyarsk and was then called to Moscow . In 1972 he became a member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the CPSU , and in 1982 he became a candidate for the Politburo of the Central Committee of the CPSU . He lost both offices in 1988 when he was retired, but remained a member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (until 1989) and the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR (until 1990). In December 2011, Dolgich, who now belongs to the United Russia party, was elected to the Duma and opened the constituent session of the new Duma on December 21, as the oldest member of parliament. On September 13, 2013, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin appointed him representative of the Executive Body of Moscow on the Federation Council . In 2018 he was followed by Vladimir Koschin .

Dolgich was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor twice , the Order of Lenin six times, the Order of Friendship and the Order of Merit for the Fatherland 4th, 2nd and 1st class.
