Wladislaus Auschwitz (also Ladislaus of Teschen-Auschwitz ; Władysław Auschwitz ; * 1275/ 1280 ; † 1321/ 1322 ) was Duke of Teschen and 1314/15 1321/22 to Duke of Auschwitz . He came from the Teschen branch of the Silesian Piasts .

Life

His parents were Duke Mesko I of Teschen and his wife, whose name is not known. In 1304/09, Wladislaus married Euphrosyne († 1327), a daughter of Duke Bolesław II of Mazovia . Originated from marriage

After the death of their father in 1314/15, Wladislaus and his younger brother Casimir I inherited the Duchy of Teschen. They shared it in such a way that the area of ​​Auschwitz was removed for Wladislaus and the second-born Casimir I received the reduced Duchy of Teschen with the royal seat of Teschen . This made Wladislaus the first Duke of Auschwitz. He died around 1321/22; his body was buried in the church of the Dominican monastery at Auschwitz .
