Vladislav "Wlada" Igorewna Burejewa ( Russian Владислава Игоревна Буреева ; born February 20, 1989 in Tomsk ) is a Russian ski racer . She starts in all disciplines and became Russian champion in giant slalom in 2009 .
Career
Bureyeva did not begin intensive ski training until she was 16. During this time she took part in FIS races and national championships in her home country. The first launches outside of Russia followed in winter 2007/2008. At the Russian Championships in 2008, she reached second place in the giant slalom. Her first podium finish in an FIS race was followed by her first starts in the European Cup in February 2009 . In the 2009/2010 season she competed in almost 20 races in the European Cup, but never reached the points, that is, placing in the top 30. At the Junior World Championships , in which she participated in 2008 and 2009, she achieved placements in the midfield.
Bureyeva achieved her first major national success in March 2009 when she became the Russian giant slalom champion in Scheregesch . In 2010 she reached two second places in the giant slalom and in the Super-G in the national championships. In February 2010, Bureyeva won her first FIS race and in September of the same year she finished in the top three in three races of the Australian New Zealand Cup . She made her debut in the World Cup on November 27, 2010 in the giant slalom in Aspen , where she was eliminated in the first round. She then took part in several races in the Nor-Am Cup and achieved fifth place in Panorama Super-G on December 13 and sixth place in the super combined the next day. On February 17, 2011, she was the only Russian woman to take part in the giant slalom of the 2011 World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and finished in 39th place. A week later she won her first points in the European Cup with 26th place in the downhill from Sochi .
In the 2011/2012 season, Bureyeva again achieved top 10 results in the Nor-Am Cup. In March / April 2012 she won the Russian giant slalom championship and came second in the super combined.
